Hot Water Heater Repair
You may also no longer supply your water heater an awful lot of thought, however it’s necessary to watch for modifications in your water heater’s performance. Over time, sediment can construct up in the tank and minimize efficiency. Your water heater’s heating factors and thermostat can additionally wear out, leaving you with a fluctuating temperature or no hot water at all.

ELETRIC WATER HEATER
Most homes have a hot water heater, which is responsible for providing hot water for showers, dishes, and laundry. Many people don't think about their hot water heater until it stops working. If you're in need of a hot water heater replacement or installation, it's important to understand how they work so that you can choose the best option for your home. Electric water heaters work by heating elements that are submerged in a water storage tank. The heat from the elements is transferred to the water, which is then stored until it's needed. These types of water heaters are often more efficient than gas-powered models, but they can also be more expensive to operate. If you're considering an electric hot water heater for your home, it's important to factor in the increased cost of your monthly utility bill. Despite the higher operating costs, electric hot water heaters have a number of advantages. They're typically more compact than gas models, making them a good choice for small homes or apartments. They also tend to have a longer lifespan, so you can expect to get many years of use from an electric hot water heater. When it's time for a replacement or installation, be sure to keep these factors in mind so that you can choose the best option for your home. |
TANKLESS WATER HEATER SYSTEMS
Most homes have a hot water heater that uses a storage tank. These are generally placed in the basement or a utility closet. The tank is filled with water and then heated to the desired temperature. Hot water is drawn from the tank as needed. When the hot water in the tank is used up, it must be refilled and reheated, which can be costly and time-consuming. Tankless water heaters heat water directly without the use of a storage tank. When a hot water tap is turned on, cold water travels through a pipe into the unit. Either a gas burner or an electric element heats the water. As a result, tankless water heaters deliver a constant supply of hot water. There are several benefits to using a tankless hot water heater. They produce an infinite supply of hot water, take up much less space, have a decreased risk of leaking, and their operating costs are lower than traditional hot water heaters. Additionally, they can increase the resale value of your home. If you're thinking about replacing your hot water heater, or if you're building a new home and need to install a hot water heater, consider tankless hot water heaters. You'll never run out of hot water again and you'll enjoy all the other benefits that come with this type of hot water heater. |
GAS WATER HEATER
Traditional hot water heaters all work in a similar fashion. The primary difference between them is the fuel source, such as gas, electric, or even solar energy. Cost, convenience and efficiency are some of the advantages of gas for heating your home's water. If your hot water heater is on its last legs, you may be wondering what kind of replacement to choose. Gas heaters are a popular choice, and for good reason. In addition to being cheaper than electricity, a natural gas supply is more reliable. What's more, when a water tank runs out of hot water, a gas heater will recover its heat much faster than an electric one. This is in contrast to electric heaters, which can take a significant amount of time to heat up more water. Of course, gas models do require some maintenance, However, gas heaters also have their disadvantages. They require venting to the outside, which can be tricky to install, and they produce carbon monoxide, which can be dangerous if not properly ventilated. When deciding whether to replace your old hot water heater with a new gas model, weigh the pros and cons carefully to make the best decision for your home. |
COMMERCIAL HOT WATER HEATERS
A hot water heater is a vital component of any home or business - it provides hot water for cooking, cleaning, and bathing. When it's time for a water heater replacement or installation, there are several factors to consider. There are two major differences between commercial and residential water heaters. The first is the size of the storage tanks. Residential heater tanks typically are no larger than 100 gallons, while commercial tanks do not exceed 250 gallons. The second difference is the gas input levels. Commercial heaters have higher gas input levels than residential ones, making them more efficient in terms of hot water production. If you're thinking about replacing your old water heater or installing a new one, it's important to choose the right type for your needs. Commercial heaters are ideal for businesses that require large amounts of hot water on a daily basis. Residential heaters, on the other hand, are perfect for homes with smaller hot water needs. When it comes to choosing a hot water heater, size and hot water production capacity are the two most important factors to consider. These factors should be considered when choosing a new hot water heater to ensure that it meets the needs of the home or business. Hot water heater installation and replacement is an important decision - be sure to consult with a professional to find the best option for your needs. |

WHAT TO CONSIDER WHEN CHOOSING A TANK FOR YOUR HOME
If your hot water heater is more than 10 years old, it may be time to replace it. When selecting a new hot water heating system for your home, choose one that will not only provide enough hot water but also that will do so energy efficiently, saving you money. This includes considering the different types of water heaters available and determining the right size and fuel source for your home. There are several types of hot water heaters to choose from, including tankless (or on-demand) water heaters, gas-fired water heaters, electric water heaters, and solar water heaters. Each type has its own benefits and drawbacks, so it's important to select the one that best meets your needs. For example, tankless water heaters are more expensive than traditional tank-style water heaters but they're also more efficient because they only heat the water when you need it. Gas-fired water heaters are less expensive to operate than electric models but they require a reliable gas supply. Solar water heaters can save you money on your energy bills but they require a sunny location and good insulation. The size of the hot water heater is also an important consideration. If you have a large family or if you use a lot of hot water in your home, you'll need a bigger model than if you live alone or have a smaller household. In addition, consider the fuel source for the hot water heater. Gas models are usually less expensive to operate than electric models but they require a reliable gas supply. Solar models can save you money on your energy bills but they require a sunny location and good insulation. Choose the hot water heater that best meets your needs and budget to enjoy years of trouble-free operation. |

There are a number of different reasons why water heaters is leak. Finding the location of the leak will give you a much more accurate idea of what may be causing the issue.
Here are some scenarios:
- Leak coming from the top of your tank - it is possible that a particular plumbing part or fitting is malfunctioning. These types of leaks can more than often be rehabbed.
- Pool of water under and around the water heater - You may have a crack somewhere in the tank itself and will need a water heater replacement.
- A dripping overflow pipe - the occasional drip is completely normal, however, if it continues to leak more steadily then you may have a more serious issue that needs to be looked at. The overflow pipe serves as a safety valve that relieves pressure from inside the water heater. This helps prevent your water heater from cracking, or worse, bursting.

The short answer is.... it depends (yes we know that's not what you wanted to hear but sit tight)
There are a few scenarios that cause water discoloration. Let's run through them:
- If it's just when you run COLD WATER... it is possible an issue with a specific water supply pipe and not your hot water heater
- If it's just when you run HOT WATER... then it is likely from corrosion sediment and rust from your water heater tank itself. If flushing your tank doesn't help, you may just need a new Anode Rod to fix the issue instead of a new water heater replacement
- If it's ALL of your HOT & COLD WATER... then it could be fluctuating water supply issues in either your plumbing system or even as a result of nearby city water lines

Noisy rumbling or "whistling" water heaters are more common in older units that are either giving out or have not received routine maintenance service for some time.
Different sounds could be clues to different issues with your unit.
- Rumbling - this sound is usually caused by hot expanding water going through the sediment resting at the bottom of your water heater's tank. It is possible that a simple flush would help with this issue.
- High-pitched - this sound could be due to high incoming water pressure. When your pressure/temperature release valve is not opening properly to release pressure from inside the tank, it can lead to cracks in your water heater, or worse, bursts.

WHY WON'T MY GAS WATER HEATER PILOT LIGHT STAY LIT?
No pilot light can mean no hot water. There are a couple of reasons why your pilot light won't light or stay lit.
We advise not to attempt to DIY this type of project. Give us a call at (912)800-0202 and schedule one of our trained technicians to swing by and take a look. You'll always get a free estimate before any work is done so you know exactly what to expect.
No pilot light can mean no hot water. There are a couple of reasons why your pilot light won't light or stay lit.
- Gas valve (thermostatic control) - normally has a dial for water temperature control and will also have a probe that monitors the water temperature. If the thermocouple is okay, then the thermostatic control valve may be malfunctioning. Replacement of this part should be performed by a trained technician.
- Thermocouple - a heat sensing probe that is part of the pilot assembly and sits just above the pilot flame and is designed to keep gas flowing to the pilot light. If the thermocouple is defective, it will not sense the flame from the pilot light and the gas valve will not receive the proper voltage signal to keep gas flowing to the pilot assembly.
